January 2011 Newsletter
I hope everyone is have a happy new year!
Last Wednesday we had our December member's meeting. We tried out having the meeting be only an hour and follow it with an open work meeting. This format worked well and will continue at our office (2nd floor 333 SE 2nd). So if you want to partake in organizational business make it to the first hour 7-8pm. If you want to get your hands dirty stick around or show up at 8pm and partake in campaign work, strategic planning, join the tech team, etc etc.
Minutes for December meeting here. Proposed agenda for this month's meeting here. Two versions of constitution/bylaw revision available. The first has been finalized but not officially introduced yet. The second is final and introduced and will be voted on this month. Take a look at both (links in previous sentences).
Thursday the 13th of this month I'm planning on attending AFSCME's environmental caucus. I'm planning on formally introducing the idea of the Multnomah County Library adding community garden plots to their collection with the Portland Greens as potentially a partner in this endeavor. Let me know if you want to know more.
A huge step forward is planned in two separate campaigns this month that the Portland Greens are leading. Too soon to report this newsletter but if you want to be involved contact me. There are a number of work meetings planned throughout the month that you can attend as well. Our office space is available for your own Green related meetings, again just let me know and I can help set it up.
Something a member asked to pass along. Mortgage payment assistance: "Using funds allocated to Oregon from the Housing Finance Agency Innovation Fund for the Hardest Hit Housing Markets..."
Take care all.
